Safety System
The MRT Yellow Line mass transit system is a straddle
monorail. The entire line operates on an elevated structure
and was established to facilitate travel between Lat Phrao
district and Samut Prakan province.
Train Operation Safety
In normal operation, the line will run in Automatic Train
Operations Mode (ATO), in which trains are run through an
automated system without a conductor. Train speeds are limited
to 80 km/h.
Onboard Safety
Train passenger compartments were designed without sharp edges
to avoid injury to passengers and are composed of materials
that are fire resistantfire-resistant and do not produce toxic
fumes in the event of a fire. In the event of an emergency
such as a fire, sudden passenger illness, or other such
situation, passengers may report the incident to the Operation
Control Center train conductor by pressing the yellow bell
button (Passenger Intercom Panel) installed in train door
areas
Station Safety
Station structures were designed according to international
standards for rail stations and fitted with fire prevention
and suppression systems including fire extinguishers, fire
hoses and automated water and gas fire suppression systems
throughout. Stations are also equipped with electrical and
lightning rod systems, emergency stop buttons (yellow box) on
platforms able to halt trains arriving or leaving stations in
emergency situations and 1.50-meter-tall Half-Height Platform
Screen Doors that improve safety by preventing dangerous
scenarios, such as people or objects falling onto tracks.
Personnel
Safety Risk Control Supervisor Responsible
for overseeing data, risks and keeping systems
current in accordance with operational plans, provide advice
on risk management, develop educational content on safety and
security systems for the purpose of training staff and
contractors, and maintain safety standards for the monorail
within acceptable parameters.
Occupational Health and Safety Personnel (Occupational Health)
In the interest of occupational health and safety, safety
personnel are present at every level of operation. Their focus
is on eliminating and managing risks, supporting and promoting
safe work conditions and occupational health as well as
providing consultation to customers, personnel, employees,
contractors and all stakeholders.

SkyTrain System is carried out by the MRT Yellow Line Safety
Academy, which focuses on the development of personnel,
contractors, and sub-contractors of the company operating with
zero injury, illness, or death as well as instilling safety
awareness. Safety trainers specialized in safety and
occupational health focus their lessons on practical
application and enhancement of safety as well as developing
safety leadership among all personnel.

operating procedures in the event of an emergency for
understanding and expertise as well as coordination with
public and private entities in the event of an emergency.
These demonstrations also serve as trials of equipment and
personnel preparedness, reviews of procedures for various
